Positions: Steel Structure Fitters, Gas Cutters.
About the Requirement: A leading construction contracting group urgently requires experienced Steel Structure Fitters and Gas Cutters for heavy structural projects in Russia (MM-703). Candidates must possess proven hands-on experience in steel erection, alignment, fitting, site welding coordination and gas cutting in a construction environment. The project involves fabrication and on-site erection of large-scale steel structures — familiarity with safety protocols, scaffold usage, rigging signals, and working at heights is mandatory. Shortlisting is in progress and immediate joiners with complete documentation will be preferred for faster processing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret fabrication drawings and perform accurate fit-up of structural components.
- Carry out gas cutting operations for site modifications and adjustments as per drawing revisions.
- Work with the erection team to align, clamp, tack-weld and set steel members prior to final welding.
- Follow QA/QC guidelines: ensure dimensional accuracy, straightness, and tolerance checks during fit-up.
- Uphold site safety procedures, use personal protective equipment (PPE) and report any hazards immediately.
- Coordinate with supervisors, welders, riggers and crane operators for safe and timely erection.
Candidate Profile (Must have):
- Minimum 4 and maximum 8 years of relevant experience in steel structure construction projects.
- Hands-on experience as Steel Fitter, Erection Fitter, or Gas Cutter on heavy structural/industrial projects.
- Ability to read and follow structural drawings and fabrication isometric sketches.
- Experience with measuring tools (tape, vernier, level, plumb), clamps, and basic temporary fixing methods.
- Physically fit for site work; comfortable working at heights and in outdoor conditions.
- Good team-player attitude, reliable, punctual and disciplined for offshore/overseas assignments.
